Mobility Concepts rents carts, scooters, strollers and wheelchairs at the North Carolina State Fair and other Triangle events. The owner's brief was one sentence: make it hard for cash, carts, licenses or paperwork to go missing without a trail.

Made for a fairground on a Saturday
Every decision in Hitchpost starts there: a crowd, a line, and no wifi.
Works with no signal
Offline is normal. Each tablet keeps renting and catches up when a connection comes back.
A record nobody can change
Every rental, payment, deposit and return is saved for good. A mistake gets a new line that corrects it.
Cash and collateral
Licenses, car keys and cash deposits are tied to the rental they cover, and drawers balance at close.
Online booking
Reservations from your site land in the gate app, so the gate knows who is coming.
Any device at the gate
Tablets, a laptop or a phone. The card reader pairs with whatever is in hand, and an item with no price cannot be rented.
Hard to lose
Every tablet holds the full log, so a lost laptop or a dead hub can be rebuilt from any device on site.
No AI in this one
On purpose
Hitchpost runs offline all day. It does one job and keeps a clean record. Nothing in it calls an AI model.

A version for any rental business is in development. It will run on your own booking site, and your customers will see your brand at the gate, on the receipt and in the confirmation text.

Does Hitchpost work without internet?
Yes. Rentals keep going with no connection and sync when one comes back. It was built for fairgrounds where the wifi does not work.
Can anyone change a rental after it is saved?
No. Saved entries are never edited. A fix is added as a new entry, so the original stays. That leaves a trail for cash, carts, licenses and paperwork.
What devices does it run on?
Whatever is at the gate. The first event ran on three tablets and a laptop, with a Bluetooth card reader that pairs with any of them.
Can I use Hitchpost at my rental company?
It runs for Mobility Concepts today. A version for any rental business is in development, and we quote early licensing case by case.
